Urfi Javed Strongly REACTS To Violence Against Women In Manipur: What Happened Was Shameful

The state of Manipur has been making headlines for the ongoing communal clashes for days now. It is reported that the clashes have been going on between the majority Meitei who live in the Imphal Valley, and the Kukis, the tribe from the hills. And while clashes have become the talk of the town, a new shocking incident shook the nation.

According to media reports, two women were stripped, paraded naked and assaulted in Manipur during the clash. In fact, a video of the incident of the incident also surfaced on social media and it has sent chills down the spines.

As the video is going viral, Urfi Javed took to social media and reacted strongly to this horrifying incident. Sharing the news on her Instagram story, Urfi wrote, "What happened in Manipur was shameful not just for Manipur but entire India".

This isn't all. The netizens have also been condemning the incident and have demanded immediate action against the mob that harassed the women in the video.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also reacted to the shocking incident and said, "My heart is wrenched due to the incident in Manipur. The entire nation feels ashamed; such incidents of violence are disgraceful for the whole country and every citizen."

He further added, "I assure the nation, no guilty will be spared. Law will take its course with all its might. What happened with the daughters of Manipur can never be forgiven. No one should be spared, and the law must take appropriate action. They will never be forgiven".

On the other hand, as per the recent update, the main accused in the case has been arrested. The news was confirmed by Kukdiep Singh, the Security Advisor to the Manipur Chief Minister in conversation with CNN News 18. "He is seen in the video wearing a green check shirt. We have taken him into custody and are interrogating him," he added.
