Gossip mills suggested that Abhishek and Jiya would participate in Bigg Boss 17. It was said that the makers have approached the duo to be a part of the upcoming season of Bigg Boss.

However, we debunked the rumour and confirmed that they are not doing the project. "Both Abhishek Malhan and Jiya Shankar are busy with their respective projects. It's just a false rumour. They are not doing Bigg Boss 17. The duo is interested in newer projects. They might make a special appearance in BB 17 but they are no doing a full-fledged non-fiction show that keeps them away for three months," a source told Filmibeat.

As Jiya Shankar arrived at a Ganpati pandal to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi 2023, fans started cheering for her and even took Abhishek Malhan's name. A video went viral where the fans are heard saying, 'We want Abhiya'. They chanted their name, expressing their fondness for the Bigg Boss OTT 2 stars.
