Gufi Paintal Passes Away: Veteran actor Gufi Paintal, who is known for his role as Shakuni Mama in Mahabharat breathed his last today. He was hospitalised due to age-related health concerns in Mumbai. He was 78.
Earlier on June 3, Gufi Paintal's son, Harry Paintal, shared a health update and said that the veteran actor was stable and recovering. However, the news of his passing away has saddened his fans and everyone in the industry.
GUFI PAINTAL'S FAMILY ISSUES STATEMENT
Gufi Paintal's family issued a statement about his sad demise and informed that he passed away due to health-related ailments.
As per Indian Express, his family in the statement said, "With profound grief we announce the sad demise of our father Mr Gufi Paintal (Shakuni Mama). He passed away peacefully this morning surrounded by family."
Reports suggest that Gufi's nephew Hiten said, "He passed away today around 9 am. He had a heart failure. He was 79 years old."
GUFI PAINTAL WAS FACING AGE-RELATED AILMENTS
The actor's nephew, Hiten, told PTI that his uncle is suffering from age-related health issues. "He had blood pressure and heart issues. He was keeping unwell and all this was going on for a while. Things got severe now so we got him to the hospital for observation. He has been in the hospital for seven to eight days. He was critical initially, but right now he is stable."
Gufi Paintal's last rites will be performed today at around 4 pm at a crematorium ground in Andheri's suburban.

The Indian actor and comedian, Gufi Paintal was known for his work in Bollywood films and television shows. He was born on January 4, 1945, in Jhelum, Pakistan. He came from a family with an entertainment background.
His father, Mohan Chand Paintal, was an actor and comedian as well. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Shakuni Mama in the television series "Mahabharat," which aired in the 1980s. Apart from Mahabharat, Paintal acted in several Bollywood films and television shows. Some of his notable film appearances include Namak Haraam, Shaan, Do Aur Do Paanch, Ghatak: Lethal, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro among others.
In addition to acting, the veteran actor also directed television shows. He directed the popular series Nukkad and Zabaan Sambhalke.
