EXCL! Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’s Ami Trivedi On Onscreen Gangaur Celebrations: I'm Married To A Rajasthani…

Actress Ami Trivedi, who plays the role of Manjari, Abhimanyu's mother, in Yeh Rishta kya Kehlata Hai, says that the ongoing Gangaur celebrations on the show are impressive. Right from the location to the costumes, everything is on-point, she adds.
"The onscreen Gangaur celebrations are grand. I haven't celebrated Gangaur in this manner. I'm married to a Rajasthani and the celebration there is a very big deal, but it is not celebrated the way we do it here, in Mumbai, because in this city we don't have many places like Ghat, so we make our make-shift arrangements. But, on the show, we did it in a typical Rajasthani way. The entire get-up was the most fun part. Everybody was dressed up in Rajasthani attire and it was very beautiful. I had a lot of fun and the entire celebrations felt very grand," she says.
She adds, "Rajan ji has definitely presented the culture of Udaipur in a very authentic way. We shot in one place and honestly that location is not even known. That location doesn't even have a name. They have done so much research on that place and it gives us all the entire Ghat feel. It was a very beautiful place. And especially for the Gangaur festival, our looks were designed accordingly, along with all the jewellery. So definitely there was a lot of authenticity, keeping in mind the small nuances of the culture, keeping everything in mind about Gangaur. We have celebrated it the same way people do it in Udaipur."
Talking about her get-up, she says, "The Rajasthani poshak is beautiful. The ghagra, choli with the jewellery which is definitely heavy. It was fun but I really salute the Rajasthani women who actually dress up like this all the time. We have seen them in movies and TV or when you travel over there but when you are wearing it, you realise how heavy everything is. Getting ready with all the jewellery and everything and then performing pooja, hats off to them!"
