Star Plus has been topping the TRP charts with most of its shows including Anupamaa and Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin fetching big numbers every week. One of them is Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai featuring Pranali Rathod and Harshad Chopda in the lead roles of Akshara and Abhimanyu respectively.

The show, which premiered on the channel in 2009 with Hina Khan and Karan Mehra as protagonists, has been getting a great response from viewers for years now and completed 14 successful years last month.

Despite getting a mixed response for the storyline, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has been winning hearts thanks to the popular characters and strong performances. Also, the team regularly introduces new twists and turns to make the show more entertaining for loyal viewers.

According to a Tellychakkar report, the team is planning to revive the character and searching for a new actress to essay the role. Kartik (Mohsin Khan) and Naira's (Shivangi Joshi) Surekha chachi was a pivotal part of the show till 2021. After its re-entry, the character will have an important track in the show. However, an official announcement is still awaited.

Now, it'll be interesting to see how the comeback of Surekha Goenka will impact the lives of Akshara and Abhimanyu.
