This is the question on everyone's mind ever since rumours about the show taking a big generation leap surfaced on the internet. While the channel and the production house have refrained from commenting on the matter, gossip mills suggest that the preparations for a time jump are underway. Harshad Chopda and Pranali Rathod are even rumours to be making an exit from Yeh Rishta once the Star Plus show takes a leap.

FAHMAAN KHAN NOT PLAYING MALE LEAD IN YEH RISHTA KYA KEHLATA HAI

Speculations were rife that Fahmaan Khan and Tejasswi Prakash might play the lead role in Yeh Rishta after generation leap is introduced. While Fahmaan denied the buzz, Tejasswi is yet to react to the conjecture. Filmibeat was the first portal to debunk the baseless rumours floating on the internet.

"Rajan Shahi is known for giving opportunities to fresh faces like Hina Khan, Shivangi Joshi and Pranali Rathod. He must have chalked out a proper plan for Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, if it is taking a leap. While the production house would love to work with Tejasswi and Fahmaan, I think new faces will be auditioned for the lead roles. There's no doubt that Fahmaan Khan and Tejasswi Prakash are wonderful actors, who bring their own fan following but I think the chances of them featuring in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai are bleak," a source earlier told Filmibeat.

RANDEEP RAI IN YEH RISHTA KYA KEHLATA HAI

As per the latest buzz, a Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 star has received the call for YRKKH. Yes, you read that right! There's a chatter in the industry that Randeep Rai, who was last seen in Bade Achhe 2 opposite Niti Taylor, has been offered the show. The Yeh Unn Dino Ki Baat Hai actor is known for his good looks, charming smile and acting prowess.

"Randeep Rai's name has been discussed on the table but nothing has been confirmed. The production house is busy auditioning the actors for the episodes after the leap in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Randeep is yet to give an audition or do a mock shoot for YRKKH but yes, he is in contention to play the male lead. Things will be clear in the upcoming days," our khabri quipped.

Randeep Rai is also in talks with Ekta Kapoor's production house for a new show on Colors channel. Faltu fame Niharika Chouksey has also been approached for the upcoming daily soap.
