The show turned 14 in January 2023, becoming the longest-running Hindi show along with Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. TV buffs have been wondering if Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai will take a leap after gossip mills suggested that the makers are busy looking for new leads.

Rajan Shahi and his team have remained tight-lipped about the leap as the creative team is busy chalking out a plan for the smooth exit of the artists and successful implementation of the time jump. There's a lot of buzz that Harshad Chopda and Pranali Rathod will make an exit from the serial after the leap is introduced. There's no official confirmation about the same.

Randeep Rai is rumoured to be playing the main lead in YRKKH, replacing Harshad. "Randeep Rai's name has been discussed on the table but nothing has been confirmed. The production house is busy auditioning the actors for the episodes after the leap in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Randeep is yet to give an audition or do a mock shoot for YRKKH but yes, he is in contention to play the male lead. Things will be clear in the upcoming days," our khabri said.

WILL FAHMAAN KHAN, TEJASSWI PRAKASH PLAY NEW LEADS IN YEH RISHTA?

Speculations were rife that Fahmaan Khan and Tejasswi Prakash would play the new leads in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai after Harshad and Pranali's exit from the serial. However, Filmibeat debunked the rumours.

When we asked our source, he stated, "Rajan Shahi is known for giving opportunities to fresh faces like Hina Khan, Shivangi Joshi and Pranali Rathod. He must have chalked out a proper plan for Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, if it is taking a leap. While the production house would love to work with Tejasswi and Fahmaan, I think new faces will be auditioned for the lead roles. There's no doubt that Fahmaan Khan and Tejasswi Prakash are wonderful actors, who bring their own fan following but I think the chances of them featuring in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai are bleak."

ABHIMANYU-ABHIR DEATH REASON

If a recent report in a portal is to be believed, Abhimanyu will die in a car accident. Harshad Chopda's character will come to an end after he meets with an accident. Guess what? Abhimanyu won't be the only character bidding adieu to the show. Abhir will also suffer an unfortunate end and die with his dad.

The fatal car accident will lead to Abhimanyu and Abhir's death. Two main characters will leave the show while the story will shift focus on Akshara's baby, the report in India Forums said.
