Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai Update: After the remarkable success of Bidaai, Rajan Shahi collaborated with Star Plus once again in 2009 to bring Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai to the small screen. The show starred Hina Khan and Karan Mehra initially. Over the past 15 years, the daily soap has undergone significant transformations, including multiple time leaps, and now primarily centers around the third generation.

Currently featuring Harshad Chopda and Pranali Rathod as the main protagonists, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is currently going through an important twist with Akshara and Abhimanyu's wedding. Mahima Makwana is said to be one of the names doing the rounds to play the new leading lady in the top-rated show after the generation leap. Best known for her role in Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, Mahima made her Bollywood debut with Salman Khan and Aayush Sharma's Antim and is currently away from the small screen. However, the news of her TV comeback with Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai left her fans elated.

In a recent interview, the talented actress finally opened up about the ongoing speculations and dismissed the rumours of her entry in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Talking to Tellychakkar about the same, Mahima Makwana said, "Seriously? Kya baat kar rahe ho aap, ek kaam karo, aap Yeh Rishta ke saath aur aise 4-5 aur projects apne hisaab se (smiles)... there's no truth to this. Aisa kuch nahi hua hai, I've got no call about Yeh Rishta. But, the show has been doing great for so long, so all the best to the team. But no, not at all."
