Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai Update: A few months ago, TV actor Jay Soni joined the cast of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, produced by Rajan Shahi. He was introduced as Abhinav, the new guy opposite Akshara (played by Pranali Rathod), just before the leap. Currently, the storyline depicts Akshara and Abhinav living together as a married couple with their son Abhir.

AbhiRa's fan following is massive, but Jay is also receiving a lot of positive feedback for his portrayal of Abhinav, a kind man who shares a respectful relationship with Akshara and Abhir. However, a section of social media users aren't happy with his entry and often troll him.

In a recent interview, the actor opened up about facing online trolling and how he copes up with it.

Talking to ETimes, Jay stated, "I do understand that it is a part and parcel of playing the role. I don't blame them also because they are attached and connected to the characters for so long and obviously they will feel bad if there's a new entry. But they don't know the other side of the story, I mean the actors' side, fans don't know. When they take you wrong, you feel a bit disappointed. They don't know what kind of person I am so I think they should understand that we are just actors and we are doing our jobs what we are being told."

He added, "Now, I have grown up on what all they will say, "Kuch toh log kahenge"... but I just say only one thing while doing my job, Bhagwan main Apna kaam kar raha hoon, Baaki aap dekh lena... for me my work is everything and I worship my work. I want to do it with full honesty. Fans can criticise. I am fine with it, you are connected with someone, I understand how you must be feeling but targeting someone personally is totally wrong."
