Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin was the only Hindi daily soap that dethroned Anupama for a week. However, Rajan Shahi's show bounced back the next week, courtesy of the twists and turns. The makers added a new twist in the tale when they separated Aadhya from Anuj.

In a sudden development, Romit Raaj took over the role of Rohit in Samridhii Shukla's show, marking Shivam's exit from the show. Gossip mills earlier suggested that he would play the lead role in Rajan Shahi's upcoming project on Star Plus. However, the show has been put on the backburner.

A source close to the show exclusively told Filmibeat, "Anupamaa will witness a new track when the makers introduce another leap. We have heard that Shivam Khajuria has been approached for a meaty role in Anupamaa serial as the creative team has planned a massive twist. Contrary to the rumours, he is not playing the lead role in Rajan Shahi's next show. Star Plus has put a few shows, including Rajan's upcoming daily soap, on hold. Shivam is expected to join Anupama."
