TRP Report Week 2: Anupamaa, Bigg Boss 17, Shrimad Ramayan, Yeh Rishta- Which Drama Will Top 10 Shows List?

TRP of Hindi serials: The BARC TRP ratings for week 2, 2024 will be released on Thursday (January 18). TV buffs are eagerly waiting for the ratings to know which show will top the TRP charts. Will Anupamaa perform better than Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin? Will Bigg Boss 17 family week episodes generate good TRPs? Read on to know.

CHANNEL WAR

Star Plus continued to lead with maximum shows in the list of top ten serials and reality shows. Anupamaa, Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Imlie continue to rake in huge numbers for the channel, making it the number one GEC.

Last week, the ITA Awards 2023 generated a huge viewership for the channel, making Star Plus a strong number one. The Indian Television Academy Awards 2023 fetched a TRP of 2.7 in week 1 of 2024.

Colors channel was placed at the second position as Shiv Shakti-Tap Tyaag Tandav, Parineetii and Bigg Boss 17 performed well for the channel. New launches Doree and Mera Balam Thanedaar are also doing decent despite competition from the Bhagyas and YRKKH.

Sony SAB's Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah also secured a spot in the list of top-rated shows.

SHRIMAD RAMAYAN TRP WEEK 2

The mythological show opened with an average TVR of 0.9 in the first week of 2024. The opening TRP of Srimad Ramayan was 1.1 on Sony Entertainment Television. The strategy to not premiere Shrimad Ramayan on OTT (SonyLiv) seems to have worked as the show garnered more numbers than Kavya, Barsatein and Dabangii.

Despite the popularity, the TRPs dipped to 0.8 in the second week.

When Filmibeat got in touch with an industry expert to know about Shrimad Ramayan OTT platform and release date, she shared an interesting insight. "Shrimad Ramayan is the biggest property of the channel in recent times. It has deliberately positioned the show so that it reaches the masses and they can watch it on television. The higher-ups want the audience to watch the show on TV and later, when the base is built, the episodes will be available for streaming on OTT," the source said.

TRP OF TOP 10 SHOWS LIST

Anupamaa topped the TRP charts in week 2 as it witnessed a rise in numbers. The show starring Rupali Ganguly and Gaurav Khanna secured a rating of 2.8 while Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin bagged the second position with a TRP of 2.7.
