Barsatein last episode: After entertaining the audience for seven months, Sony Entertainment Television's Barsatein-Mausam Pyaar Ka ended last week. Starring Shivangi Joshi and Kushal Tandon, the show was produced by Ekta Kapoor. When the romantic drama replaced Nakuul Mehta and Disha Parmar starrer Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 3, TV buffs assumed that it would perform well.

However, Barsaatien couldn't perform as per expectations and was put under the scanner. As the show geared up for the premiere of Kuch Reet Jagat Ki Aisi Hai, it changed the time slot of Dabangii Mulgi Aayi Re and axed Barsatein serial.

A source exclusively informed Filmibeat, "Barsatein was supposed to be a major changer for Sony TV. The channel was confident about the show as it was bankrolled by Ekta Kapoor, who delivered Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 for them. However, the show lost steam within a few months and hence, the makers decided to end it rather than dragging it. Shivangi and Kushal's chemistry worked for the show but the numbers never saw a huge rise due to the tracks. Hence, they thought of pulling the plug on the show within seven months."

The low TRPs are the reason why the show ended in seven months. When asked why the show is going off air, Shivangi Joshi's co-star Pankit Thakker told ETimes, "While Barsatein was a unique concept, I believe it struggled to connect with the audience due to various factors such as timing, competition or perhaps not effectively reaching the target audience. But I am grateful for the experience."

While the show performed well on SonyLIV, it couldn't garner decent ratings on television despite massive promotions and an impressive star cast. Shivangi Joshi and Kushal Tandon's sizzling chemistry grabbed several eyeballs but somehow the numbers never crossed the 1 TVR mark.

"The chances of Barsatein season 2 are less. If the channel ever decides to bring a finite series featuring the two celebrities on television, it might take into account the profitability and other aspects. However, Barsatein 2 is not likely to air on television anytime soon," our khabri quipped when asked about a potential season two.
