He became a household name after he played the role of Arnav Singh Raizada (ASR) in the show Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon which starred Sanaya Irani opposite him. The show was aired on Star Plus in 2011-2012, and even after so many years, fans still remember Barun as the angry young man, ASR. Barun and Sanaya's chemistry was loved by one and all, and they were the most loved onscreen jodis at that time.

Filmibeat recently interacted with Barun, and when we told him about fans still loving ASR, and the character being a stamp on his career, the actor said, "And I love that. It is a piece of my work, and a lot of human beings have put in a lot of effort in making that a success. If it is lasting so long, there must be a reason, and we must have done something right and why not bask in that glory."

When asked if there are any chances of a new season of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, Barun said, "It is very difficult. I will be game for it, but I doubt it. Everyone is in the different directions in their lives. So, it becomes very difficult."
