Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai Star Shubhangi Atre: I’m Lucky To Be Doing Something New Every Day

Being an actor requires you to play different roles, in various settings, time periods, and languages-something actress Shubhangi Atre loves. She shares that she enjoys being part of the industry because it allows her to experience something new every day.

"There are many times when I sit alone on set, watching the lightmen and crew set things up. When the lighting is being adjusted on my face, I often think about how many times I should thank the universe for allowing me to be where I always wanted to be-in front of the camera. I feel incredibly lucky. The best part about being an actor is that I get to do something new every day. Unlike other professions-where if you're a doctor, you'll always be treating patients-in my case, I can be a doctor, an army officer, a housewife, or even a mafia don. That's what I love about acting-it's never monotonous," she says.

She adds, "Our industry offers something new every day-a new challenge. Even within myself, I get to explore new things daily. Every day, you have to look your best, stay fit, and give your best performance. That's the best part-you're always on your toes. As for the worst part? Honestly, there's nothing bad about it."

Working long hours while staying in shape and hitting the gym regularly can be tough, she admits, adding, "It can be quite a balancing act with the demands of the career. Yes, the working hours are very long, and often there's no time left for a social life. I think that's one of the biggest drawbacks. Sometimes, friends invite me out, but I can't go because after shooting, makeup, and dealing with traffic, you just feel too tired to go anywhere. That's the price you have to pay, I guess."

She continues, "As for staying fit, I do yoga, stretching, and watch my diet. I'm not very regular at the gym, but I go when I can."

When asked about the most important thing needed to become an actor, she says, "The most important thing, first and foremost, is passion. You need to have a burning desire for it. The second thing is patience because nothing happens instantly here. Sometimes you have to wait for years, and while overnight success is possible, often it's a slow climb, step by step. In this industry, passion is key. If you're here just for the glitz and glamour, it won't work. You need real passion. Patience is equally important because you will have to wait. It's not like after one lead role, the next will automatically follow. You have to prepare yourself again, go through auditions, and sometimes start from zero. So, determination, passion, and patience are crucial."
