Revealing the reason behind Anurag's absence from the finale, a source informed News 18, "He is not attending the grand finale. He is upset because of his journey in the show and the way he was eliminated. Anurag is sure that he does not want to be a part of the show's grand finale."

Anurag faced elimination from the Bigg Boss 17 house on January 1, with the majority of housemates voting against him. His eviction led to disappointment among many of his fans, who deemed it "unfair." In a subsequent interview, Anurag stated that he had anticipated his elimination and accused the show's producers of wanting him out as quickly as possible.
