When asked if she thought twice before saying yes to Bigg Boss 18, Chum said, "Nope, I didn't give it much thought as I was sure I wanted to participate in a show like Bigg Boss. My main motto for participating in the show is that people become more aware of where I come from. The more they Google about me, the more they will get to know about the part of the country where I came from, which is Arunachal Pradesh, and that's my main reason for doing Bigg Boss 18."

When asked what would be the biggest barrier for her in the Bigg Boss 18 house, Chum said, "The makers thought and even asked if language could be a barrier for me. But I told them that I am very well aware of Hindi, as Hindi is spoken in many parts of the Northeast. So as such, there are no challenges, but yes, sharing space will be a bit challenging. Because in the house, you will be put with 17 other people, so sharing that space is going to be a big challenge."

Chum recently had a fight with co-contestant Shehzada Dhami, as she felt that Shehzada mocked her for being from the Northeast. While some on social media bashed Shehzada, others felt that Chum overreacted and that Shehzada's words were not spoken with malicious intent.
