Later, popular actress Bijaylakshmi Chatterjee replaced Indrani as the leading lady.

From love, drama to mystery, thrill and promises wrapping around the theme of reincarnation, it has it all. The show stars Bijaylakshmi Chatterjee as the free-spirited girl 'Cheeni' who gets married to the 'Drone' (played by Somraaj S. Maity), the young heir of the Roychowdhury family.

The show started off with Cheeni being shown as a motherless girl whose father worked as a driver of the Roychowdhury family. Produced by Shahana Dutta, the serial airs everyday (Mon-Sun) at Star Jalsha on 10:30 PM IST.

Amid the current drama in the plot, we hear that Somraaj-Bijaylakshmi's 'Cheeni' is going off-air. According to an Instagram page, which shares updates about the Bengali showbiz - the team of 'Cheeni' has already wrapped up the shoot of the final episode on 25th November 2024.

As per the same post, the last episode of the Star Jalsha serial 'Cheeni' will be aired on 6th December 2024 (Friday).
