Is CID Returning With New Season After 6 Years: Is Sony TV's iconic show C.I.D getting revived? First premiered in 1998, CID was one of the longest running shows on Indian Television. After running for 21-long-years and becoming a staple on TV, the iconic crime show show suddenly went off-air, leaving fans heartbroken. Even after vanishing from TV, the show continues to enjoy a massive fan following across the nation. But the latest update about the show might leave diehard C.I.D fans rejoiced.

It's been 6-long-years since the iconic Sony TV show CID went off air. The last episode of the show was aired on 27th October 2018. During the Covid-19 pandemic-induced lockdown in 2020, the makers of CID had decided to re-telecast the show. Now, the buzz is that the cult show might be making a comeback with a brand new season.
According to a report published by Telly Express, ACP Pradyuman (played by Shivaji Satam), Inspector Daya (Dayanand Shetty), Inspector Abhijeet (played Aditya Srivastava) and their gang are set to return to TV screens with their new adventures. Yes, you read that right! As the report suggests, Sony TV is planning to revive the show and if everything goes according to the plan, CID Season 2 is expected to premiere between October-November this year.
However, there is no official confirmation yet.
Fans React To CID's Return After 6 Years
While the news left fans excited, some of the netizens are feeling sad of Fredrick aka 'Freddy' (played by Dinesh Phadnis). Reacting to the news, one of the fans wrote, "Finally 😭🤍!! For those unversed, Dinesh Phadnis, widely known for playing Freddy in CID, had passed away in December 2023 at the age of 57.
