Delnaaz Irani Signs Mukta Dhond's Next, Says 'Working In A Daily Soap Is Like Running A Marathon Daily'

Delnaaz Irani New Show: Actress Delnaaz Irani who has signed producer Mukta Dhond's next show, and has been part of shows like Kabhie Kabhie Ittefaq Se, Yes Boss and Shararat, says that being part of a daily soap is nothing short of running a marathon. She says that you need to constantly be on your toes, working hard and perform better.
"Working in a daily soap is like running a marathon every day; it's demanding, but preparation and focus are key. I make it a point to read and understand the script thoroughly before every scene. For me, it's about being completely in the moment, immersing myself in the character's emotions, and trusting my instincts. I also rely on the director's feedback and take notes after each scene to ensure that I deliver my best. A perfect take isn't just about acting-it's about syncing with the entire team, from lighting to dialogue delivery, to create magic on screen," she says.
Ask her if it is difficult or easy to maintain her performance on screen, and she says, "It's definitely challenging, but not impossible. Continuity in emotions and energy requires mental and physical stamina. I rely on my years of experience and the discipline I've built to maintain consistency. The trick is to compartmentalize each scene while keeping the overall arc of the episode in mind. Whether it's a dramatic high or a lighter moment, I stay connected to the character's journey and adapt as needed. At the same time, I ensure that I take breaks between scenes to refresh and reset, which helps me sustain the performance throughout the day."
She adds, "I would say I'm more emotionally invested because emotions drive the authenticity of a performance. Even in scenes that demand physicality, like action or confrontation, it's the emotional depth that makes them impactful. For me, the audience should feel what the character feels, and that connection comes from an emotional place. I draw from personal experiences or tap into my imagination to make the emotions raw and real. That being said, physical investment is equally important when the scene demands it-whether it's body language, gestures, or energy."
