Diwali 2024 | Deekshha Sonalkar Tham Advocates For Craker-Free Diwali: I've Seen Pets...

Deekshha Sonalkar Tham, who is currently seen in Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye, says that as a dog parent, she stands in support of a cracker-free Diwali. She said, "I am a dog parent and love animals, so I advocate for a cracker-free Diwali."
"I have seen my pets and even the street dogs get terrified by the noise. We have crackers that aren't as loud and cause less pollution. If bursting them is absolutely necessary, then people can consider those," she added.
For Deekshha, Diwali is about bringing the family together, enjoying good food, and playing Teen Patti. She said, "Every year since I was little, we would go to my uncle's house for his annual Diwali party, so this year too we will be attending. Over the years, my college friends and I started our own tradition of getting together and celebrating, so we will be doing that as well."
"The lights on Diwali make me the happiest. The entire city is lit up with beautiful lights, and everyone is happy and dressed up," she added.
Though she wears traditional outfits for her on-screen avatar, she is excited to wear Indian clothes for the festivities too. She said, "The excitement of wearing something designed by me is always special."
Deekshha loves indulging in motichoor ladoos, kalakand, and besan ladoos made by her grandmother. She added, "They are the best in the world."
She also enjoys giving gifts, generally mithai and diyas to friends and family. She added, "A friend of mine has just started a company that specializes in sustainable gifting, and I think it's a great initiative."
A favorite Diwali memory? "When my sister and I were younger, my Nani used to run a tailoring boutique on Carter Road, and she would make us matching outfits. Though I hated being dressed like my little sister back then, I do miss those days. She's the 'Deeya' of my life," Deekshha concluded.
