Doree 2 cast: In a major development, Colors channel is axing its popular property Doree to make way for a new show titled Mishri. The leading GEC has been launching several shows back-to-back in the past two months.

After launching Lakshmi Narayan and Krishna Mohini, the channel introduced Suhagaan Chudail to its weekday programming. This will be followed by the premiere of Mishri and Khubsurrat. The channel executives have plans to bolster their fiction programming with the addition of new daily soaps.

The official Instagram handle of Colors TV released a new promo to confirm Misri's launch date and time slot. The show will hit the airwaves from July 3 at 8:30pm, replacing Doree. If gossip mills are to be believed, the viewers might be able to watch Doree 2.

According to Gossip TV, the makers have approached two known-faces to play the role of grown-up Doree if a second season is announced. Ashi Singh and Niharika Chouksey are said to be in the race to play the lead in Doree season 2.

The tweet on the X handle read, "#AshiSingh and #NeeharikaChouksey in contention to play GROWN UP "Doree" in Colors TV's "Doree Season 2" ; if things materialize b/w PH and Channel, makers might start the shoot in August!! (sic)"

The tweet said that makers might shoot in August, hinting that the show might launch either in September or October during the festive season.

If the channel and the production agree to the terms, we might have a season two with a new lead and storyline. While Niharika is known for her role in Faltu, Ashi Singh shot to fame after playing the lead in Yeh Unn Dinon Ki Baat Hai opposite Randeep Rai.

On the professional front, Ashi Singh was last seen in Meet, which aired on Zee TV. Talking about Niharika, her show Aaina recently went off air due to drop in viewership.
