"Colors' programming team has decided to go ahead with Doree 2. The shoot for the show will start in the next two months and it will launch at a prime time slot at a later date. The channel is experimenting with finite series like Suhagan Chudail and Doree. It will axe Udaariyaan in the next three months and replace it with another show at prime time slot," a source told Filmibeat.

There was a buzz that Ashi Singh will replace Mahi Bhanushali as the new lead and play the grown-up Doree. The Yeh Unn Dinon Ki Baat Hai actress reportedly gave a look test. However, she is not doing the show. Yes, you read that right!

Ashi Singh is not doing the show as the makers have finalised another actress to play the role of grown-up. Wondering who is she? Well, she played the lead in a popular Star Plus serial that went off air despite good TRPs.

We are talking about Niharika Chouksey, who was seen in the titular role in Faltu. She received good reviews for her performance in the serial co-starring Akash Ahuja.
