Dusshera 2024: Ishq Jabariya Actress Kamya Panjabi On R*pe Being One Of The Worst Evils In Our Society

As we celebrated Dussehra, a time symbolizing the triumph of good over evil, actress Kamya Panjabi, who portrays Mohini in Sun Neo's hit show Ishq Jabariya, opened up about some of the worst evils in society that she believed needed to be eradicated.

Kamya Panjabi expressed, "Dussehra is a festival that shows the victory of good over evil. I strongly believe that one of the worst evils in our society is rape, especially against young girls. It was heartbreaking to see not just the assault but also the terrible killings that happened in some cases. The people who committed these crimes were like demons in our society, and I hoped we could get rid of them completely."

The Ishq Jabariya actress further added, "Another problem was how long it took for victims of rape to get justice. The process was slow and painful, making the victims and their families suffer even more. I felt justice should have been quick and firm in such cases. Why did we have to wait for court dates and long trials? We should have acted fast and given the harshest punishment to those who committed such horrible crimes."

Lastly, hoping and praying for a better future, the Ishq Jabariya actress said, "I hoped we would celebrate Dussehra not just by burning the effigies of Ravana but by ensuring that rapists, the real demons in our world, were punished swiftly and justly. That would truly have shown the victory of good over evil."
