The festival is observed with great enthusiasm in states such as Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.

This year, Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated today (September 7), marking the start of the ten-day festivities. Also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, the festival provides devotees with a chance to seek Lord Ganesha's blessings and divine intervention in overcoming life's challenges. Lord Ganesha, often referred to as 'Vignaharta,' or the remover of obstacles, is central to the prayers and rituals performed during this time.

On the special occasion, child-artist Asmi Deo, in an exclusive chat with Filmibeat, opened up about Ganesh Chaturthi and how it is celebrated every year in Mumbai in a grand way.

The talented star, who currently essays the titular role in the ZEE TV show Jagriti, said, "Ganesh Chaturthi in Mumbai is so much fun! The whole city gets excited to celebrate Bappa. Big Ganesh idols are placed in many famous places, and the streets are decorated with bright lights and colorful rangoli patterns. The festival is full of happy music, dancing, and the yummy smell of treats like modaks that my mom makes every year. I also join in the fun with my friends at our society's events and attend the big aarti every day."
