Actor Vihan Verma has become a recognisable face after his role of Mohit in Star Plus's 'Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin.' As the vibrant and cherished festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is upon us, Vihan opens up about the role of Lord Ganesha in his life and also shares some memories of the festival from his childhood.

Vihan shares that his relationship with Lord Ganesha is from childhood, "I remember watching 'Bal Ganesha,' the movie as a kid, and since then I felt he's my best friend. I would say Om Ganpataye Namah thinking he'll be there for me instantly. Now I know that he may not necessarily be present in front of me in physical form but he makes sure to make me feel his presence. It's the most surreal feeling. Just can't explain it in words."

Looking back at his childhood memories of the festival, he shares, "As kids our buildings had these cultural programs. I would take part in fancy dress and dance competitions. Those were my favourite. All my celebrations have been good, touch wood thanks to Bappa"

The actor reveals the one special tradition he holds dear. "I think during the Visarjan when you whisper your wishes in Bappa's ear, is my favourite tradition. It's so personal. It's like Ganesh Ji is sitting there for you to come and express what you have inside your heart and mind. It's the best tradition I feel apart from the modaks (laughs)."
