A source close to the show exclusively told Filmibeat, "Shakti Arora's exit has created furore on social media. Considering the fan backlash, the producers earlier refrained from commenting about the leap or confirming the massive change. While media reports stated that leap is the reason behind Shaki Arora's departure from Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, the channel has decided to trim the budget for the show. As the Silsila actor was paid a whopping amount for his stint in GHKPM, the makers decided to end his character and introduce a new lead, who is charging 1/2th of what Shakti was getting paid per episode."

"Budget issues were the main reason behind Shakti bidding adieu to Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin. It was said that the creative team didn't believe Ishaan and Savi's love story had potential; however, the real reason behind the leap was never revealed," the source added.

Shakti Arora has confirmed that he will not take a break and will return to the small screen if he is offered a good project.
