WAS SHIVANGI JOSHI THE FIRST CHOICE FOR RANDEEP RAI COLORS TV SHOW?

Filmibeat earlier informed our readers about Gul Khan bringing a new show for Colors channel. Randeep Rai and Aditi Sharma have been locked for the romantic saga that will have a different storyline.

Gossip mills have suggested that Shivangi Joshi was the initial choice for the show. Gul Khan, who has produced shows like Imlie, Ishqbaaaz and Qubool Hai, wanted to cast Shivangi as the main lead. However, things didn't materilise between the two sides.

The Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actress even completed a mock shoot for the upcoming daily soap but things didn't go as planned. Interestingly, Shivangi Joshi and Randeep Rai have earlier worked together in Balika Vadhu 2, which also aired on Colors TV.

Gossip TV tweeted, "Inside scoop 👀 : Initially Gul Khan was keen to take #ShivangiJoshi opposite #RandeepRai in her show, they had mock shoot but things didn't materialized at last #AditiSharma finalized to play the female lead in the show (sic)."

On the professional front, Shivangi Joshi was last seen Barsatein-Mausam Pyaar Ka. The show co-starring Kushal Tandon went off air in February 2024 after a short stint on Sony Entertanment Television. Sony TV axed the romantic drama due to drop in viewership and high budget.

Shivangi shot to fame after playing the role of Naira in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Her sizzling chemistry with Mohsin Khan grabbed several eyeballs and made them a popular on-screen couple. She later went on to feature in shows like Khatron Ke Khiladi 12, Balika Vadhu 2, Bekaboo and Barsatein.
