It focuses on marital bliss and the onset of the monsoon season, with participants donning colorful attire and engaging in traditional festivities. Hariyali Teej is celebrated on Shukla Paksha Tritiya in the month of Shravana, occurring two days before Nag Panchami. This year, the festival is being celebrated today (August 7), in honor of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.

ULKA GUPTA TALKS ABOUT MEMORIES RELATED TO HARIYALI TEEJ

On the special occasion, TV star Ulka Gupta, currently seen as Janvi in the ZEE TV show Main Hoon Saath Tere, opened up and shared her memories related to the festival.

Talking about how her mother celebrates Hariyali Teej, Ulka stated, "I have always heard about and seen my mother performing fast on the day of Hariyali Teej. This day honors the divine union of Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati through fasting, prayers, rituals, and joyous festivities."

She added, "I remember, my mother used prepare special delicacies at home to offer God. My mother and all the other married ladies would gather around and celebrate the festival by applying henna, wearing green, yellow, and red outfits, playing some traditional songs, and dancing to it after the puja. I always helped my mother prepare the 'prasad' for the puja. This year too, I plan to visit and help her with the preparations, so that she can relax during her fast."

On Hariyali Teej, women observe a fast and engage in rituals to seek blessings from Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati for marital happiness, prosperity, and overall well-being.
