The Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai star revealed that she has been diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. As soon as she shared the post on her official Instagram handle, fans started flooding the comments section with their messages.

HINA KHAN BREAST CANCER TREATMENT HAS BEGUN

The Bigg Boss 11 first runner-up released a statement, informing her followers that her treatment has commenced. She said that she is 'doing well despite the challenging diagnosis'.

"I have been diagnosed with Stage Three breast cancer. Despite this challenging diagnosis, I want to reassure everyone that I am doing well. I am strong, determined and truly committed to overcoming this disease. My treatment has already begun and I am ready to do everything necessary to emerge from this even stronger," the statement read.

WHAT IS BREAST CANCER?

According to the official website of World Health Organization (WHO), it is a disease in which abnormal breast cells grow out of control and end up forming tumours. If left unchecked, the tumour can become detrimental by spreading throughout the body.

WHAT IS STAGE 3 BREAST CANCER? CAN IT BE CURED?

According to Cancer Research UK's official website, "Stage 3 means that the cancer has spread from the breast to the lymph nodes . close to the breast, to the skin of the breast or to the chest wall . It is also called locally advanced breast cancer. The stage of a cancer tells you how big it is and how far it has spread."

The website said that Stage 3 breast cancer can be divided into 3A, 3B and 3C.
