The diva has revealed that she is battling with the third stage of breast cancer and that the treatment has begun. The Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai shared the news on social media in a heartfelt post and wrote, "Your personal experiences, anecdotes and supportive suggestions would mean the world to me as I navigate this journey".

Hina's revelation has once again brought breast cancer in the light. For the uninitiated, breast cancer is one of the most common cancer among women across the world. In fact, according to a report published in journal 'Cancer', there has been a spike in number of breast cancer cases by 39.1% from 1990 to 2016 and it is alarming undoubtedly. * If you feel a lump in your breast and arms which are hard and painless you must get it checked. To note, not all lumps are cancerous.

* Reach out the doctor if your breast skin looks dimpled, flaky or inflamed or has swelling in your breasts.

* You need a medical attention if there is a discharge from the nipple or you have blood coming out of your nipples

* It is advisable to reach a doctor if you have persistent pain in nipples or if the nipples become inverted.
