Hindi Diwas 2024 Exclusive | Bhagya Lakshmi Star Aishwarya Khare On Significance Of Hindi: It Embodies Deep…

Hindi Diwas 2024 Exclusive: Hindi Diwas, celebrated annually on September 14, aims to promote the importance and usage of the Hindi language across India. As the most widely spoken language in the country and the third most spoken globally, Hindi holds a significant place in Indian culture.
The day commemorates the Constituent Assembly's decision in 1949 to adopt Hindi, written in the Devanagari script, as the official language of the Union Government. This year marks the 75th anniversary of that landmark decision. According to Article 343(1) of the Indian Constitution, Hindi in Devanagari script is recognized as the official language of the Union.
Hindi Diwas also celebrates the birth anniversary of Beohar Rajendra Simha, a renowned Hindi scholar and poet, who played a pivotal role in advocating for Hindi to become an official language of India. The idea to observe September 14 as Hindi Diwas was initiated by India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, as a tribute to the language's cultural and historical significance.
