Zee TV's fiction offering - Ikk Kudi Punjab Di - is a high-octane drama that has captivated audiences with its powerful storyline and well-written characters. Based in Punjab, the show's gripping narrative symbolizes strength and resilience. As the viewers have been watching Ranjha (Avinesh Rekhi) going above and beyond to protect his loved ones in the show, in real life as well, Avinesh is very much like Ranjha. Talking about his personal life, here's what Avinesh Rekhi has to say about values that are important in a family, and maintaining good relations with each member of the family.
* What does the family system depend on?
A. I believe that a successful family system depends on love, understanding, and most importantly sharing everything with each other to avoid any misunderstandings in the relationships.
* Which family member are you closest to? What qualities do you like about that person? What's your favourite heart-touching moment with that person?
A. I don't think I can answer this question as I am equally close to everyone in the family be it my mother, father, wife, or kids. I have a special bond with each one of them, and I love them with all my heart, unconditionally.
* According to you, what is the most important feature of your family?
A. The most important feature of our family is that we all live like each other's friends. We share everything with each other, and have created a bond where there is no father-son and father-daughter relationship, I am my kids' friend, and my parents are my friends. In fact, my wife and I also share a friendship, which comes before all the other relationships we share.
* How often do you all get together? what do you enjoy doing the most as a family?
A. On the days when I am shooting, I only meet them at night. But on the days when I am not shooting, I am with them all the time. We believe in spending as much time as we can together as a family.
* When did you realize the importance of your family?
A. My family has always been very important to me, there wasn't a particular time when I realized their importance in my life because some things are innate. I am a family person, the way I have lived with my parents is exactly the way I want to live with my kids and extended family.
* What do you do to improve relationships?
A. Being calm when listening or communicating, and understanding your partner as well as your other family members, is something you should do to improve your relationships. Not letting your egos come in between when there is a disagreement, and managing anything that's negative are a couple of things to be considered when we care about our relationships and want to nurture them.
* Five tips to strengthen family relationships.
A. Go out for dinners, be transparent, live like friends, play games with each other, understand each other, and most importantly, love each other.
