Sumit Kaul Update: Actor Sumit Kaul, who plays the role of Paresh Parmar in Mrinal Abhigyan Jha Productions' Janani - AI Ki Kahani, says that it is difficult to get roles that you want to play nowadays. He adds that this role is exactly what he was looking for.

"I believe there are enough opportunities for everyone. There are a lot of actors vying for work. But everyone is unique and with their own set of strengths. The challenge is in getting parts that you specifically want for yourself and that you aspire for," he says.

He adds, "I was very excited when I heard about the concept of Janani and the character that I was being asked to play. It's extremely unique for TV and is fresh for the audience. On a personal level, I knew I would have the opportunity to attempt several aspects of my acting repertoire because he's very unpredictable."

TV involves a lot of drama, and being part of a unique show involving AI is different, he says, adding, "Drama and conflict are integral to TV and it challenges the actor as you have to stay on your toes and keep re-inventing yourself. AI being an integral part of the show means that, I as an actor need to understand that world at the same time having the necessary understanding of the audience to be able to convince and communicate it to them without confusing them or boring them."
