Janmashtami 2024: Shamshaan Champa's Aayush Shrivastava Shares Heartfelt Janmashtami Memories & Traditions
Aayush Shrivastava celebrates Janmashtami, recalling festive sweets, Dahi Handi competitions, and the profound impact of Krishna's teachings in his life. Despite his busy schedule, Aayush hopes to celebrate the festival on the set of his show, 'Shamshaan Champa'.

As Janmashtami approaches, the atmosphere is filled with anticipation and joy, thanks to the blessings of Lord Krishna. Aayush Shrivastava, the lead actor in Shemaroo Umang's supernatural series 'Shamshaan Champa,’ reminisces about his childhood memories associated with this festival. From enjoying festive sweets to participating in Dahi Handi competitions, Aayush's stories highlight the magic and joy that Janmashtami brings. His reflections on the festival capture its essence, reminding everyone of the deep-rooted happiness it brings each year.
Aayush recalls his childhood with fondness, saying, "Janmashtami holds a special place in my heart, bringing back a flood of childhood memories. Growing up in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, I was surrounded by the vibrant celebrations of this festival. We used to organise 'matki phod’ with friends, sing bhajans, and immerse ourselves in the spirit of the occasion. Even now, my family continues the tradition by celebrating Krishna’s birth at midnight, and one of my favourite bhajans to sing is 'Achutam Keshavam.' The festival is a beautiful reminder of the joy and devotion that Krishna brings into our lives."
Celebrating Janmashtami on Set
This year, Aayush expects to be busy shooting for his show on Janmashtami but hopes to celebrate on set. He shares his thoughts: "This year, I'll most likely be shooting on Janmashtami, given that our show is now on air. But I'm hopeful that we might celebrate on set, keeping the festive spirit alive." Although he hasn't portrayed Krishna yet, it remains a deep desire for him. The teachings from the Bhagavad Gita have significantly influenced him, especially those from the Karma Yoga chapters.
Aayush elaborates on how these teachings have shaped his life: "Krishna's message about performing our duties without attachment to the results has guided me through challenging times." His admiration for Krishna's wisdom reflects in his personal and professional life.
Aayush Srivastava as Vikram
In 'Shamshaan Champa,’ Aayush plays Vikram, a character grounded in science and logic despite his family's strong supernatural beliefs. Vikram's past trauma and protective nature towards his family add depth to his role. His encounter with Champa, a unique daayan (witch), challenges his rational beliefs and creates an exciting clash between logic and the supernatural. Aayush’s portrayal promises an engaging and emotionally charged performance.
Viewers can catch 'Shamshaan Champa’ every Monday-Saturday at 9:00 PM only on Shemaroo Umang.
The excitement for Janmashtami is palpable as Aayush Shrivastava shares his cherished memories and plans for this year's celebration. His reflections remind us all of the joy and devotion that this auspicious festival brings into our lives annually.
