As the whole nation is commemorating Kargil Vijay Diwas today (July 26), Dheeraj Dhoopar's Rabb Se Hai Dua co-star Seerat Kapoor also remembered our soldiers' sacrifices on this day.

KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS HISTORY AND SIGNIFICANCE

On May 26, 1999, the Indian Air Force launched Operation Vijay to confront the invasion. The conflict resulted in the loss of 527 Indian soldiers, who, supported by the Indian Air Force, triumphed despite harsh terrain and adverse weather conditions. Their courage was pivotal in regaining control of key positions held by the enemy.

The Kargil victory remains a defining moment for the Indian Army. On July 14, 1999, then-Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee officially declared Operation Vijay a success. This operation was launched in response to the unprovoked intrusion by the Pakistani Army and armed terrorists into Indian territory across the Line of Control (LoC) in Kargil.
