Lohri 2024 Exclusive: Lohri is a widely celebrated festival, particularly among Sikhs and Hindus in India, with significant observance in the North Indian states. The festival marks the commencement of the harvest season and the maturation of winter crops.
There has been some uncertainty regarding the date of Lohri this year, with considerations of it being celebrated on either 13 or 14 January. The festival is traditionally observed a day before Makara Sankranti. According to Drik Panchang, Lohri is scheduled for Sunday, 14 January 2024, while Makar Sankranti will be celebrated on 15 January 2024.
Lohri, alternatively referred to as Lohadi or Lal Loi, is a moment for offering prayers to the God of Fire and seeking blessings for one's family and dear ones. The festival signifies the commencement of the harvest season and the maturation of winter crops. Additionally, Lohri celebrates the onset of milder winters, as following the festival, the days grow longer and the nights become shorter.
AMAN GANDHI ON LOHRI CELEBRATION
TV star Aman Gandhi, who is currently seen essaying the pivotal role of Ayush in the popular ZEE TV show Bhagya Lakshmi, opened up about his love for the festival and memories attached to it.
Talking about the same, the talented actor stated, "Lohri is that one festival which is celebrated on a grand scale in Delhi. Before moving to Mumbai, I visited my grandparents and my family every year to seek their blessing and light up the Lohri bonfire. All my cousins and extended family used to come there, and we would feast on the delicious Punjabi cuisine that our moms used to make."
He added, "Lohri marks a new beginning for us, and I hope it brings a lot of positivity and happiness to everyone's life. And this year since I will be shooting for Bhagya Lakshmi, I won't be able to visit my parents in Delhi. But I hope everyone gets to celebrate this festival with their loved ones, a very happy Lohri to one and all."
