If gossip mills are to be believed, Star Plus has decided to strengthen its early evening slot with the launch of a new show. It has finalised the time slot of a fresh drama titled Advocate Anjali Awashthi.

The daily soap is the Hindi remake of Geetha LLB. Speculations are rife that Ankit Gupta starrer Maati Se Bandhi Dor will go off air due to low TRPs at the 7:30pm slot. The channel will replace the show with another drama to challenge Colors' supremacy at the same slot. For the unversed, Parineetii starring Anchal Sahu and Tanvi Dogra is performing well on the rival channel.

According to a report in TellyExpress, the leading GEC decided to axe Maati Se Bandhi Dor due to low ratings compared to other shows. The team tried to revive the show by approaching Zama Habib to write the script but the show couldn't pick up pace.

As Maati Se Bandhi Dor couldn't meet the expectations of the channel's programming team, Star Plus has decided to pull the plug on the show.

"There were plans to revamp the storyline by bringing new cast and introducing a leap. However, the plans have been cancelled as the channel wants to axe Maati Se Bandhi Dor. The low ratings and increase in viewership of Parineetii played a big role in the massive decision. The channel earlier issued a notice to the production house to increase the TRPs or shut shop," a source exclusively told Filmibeat while sharing the reason behind Star Plus' diktat.
