Makar Sankranti Exclusive: Makar Sankranti, also known as Sankranthi, is a festival that pays homage to Lord Surya, the Sun God, signifying the Sun's entry into the Capricorn zodiac sign. This significant harvest celebration is observed by Hindus throughout India, with names, rituals, and festivities varying from state to state.

In Haryana and Punjab, Makar Sankranti is referred to as Maghi, while in Tamil Nadu, it is celebrated as Pongal. Eastern Uttar Pradesh observes it as Khichdi, and in Gujarat and Rajasthan, it is known as Uttarayanan. This festive occasion will be celebrated with enthusiasm and joy on Monday, January 15.

TV star Rohit Suchanti, who is currently seen essaying the lead role of Rishi in the popular ZEE TV show Bhagya Lakshmi, opened up about his love for the festival and memories attached to it.

Talking about Makar Sankranti, the talented actor stated, "I will be mostly shooting for Bhagya Lakshmi this year during Makar Sankranti, but every year I look forward to this festival just to enjoy the special delicacies made on the occasion. Following our yearly tradition, all my friends will gather around at one of our building terraces and spend some time together. Though I am not an expert at flying kites, I try at least once."

He added, "I love the whole vibe of this festival, especially because everyone around you is so vigorous about it. All the building terraces are full of people, and families together, playing music, games, and dancing around.
