Mangal Lakshmi Exclusive: Best known for her role in Diya Aur Baati Hum, actress Deepika Singh made her much-awaited TV comeback with Colors TV's Mangal Lakshmi in February this year. Since then, the show has been entertaining viewers and has turned out to be the highest-rated drama on the channel.

Deepika Singh has been earning rave reviews for her performance as the main protagonist Mangal and is elated with Mangal Lakshmi performing well on the ratings front. In an exclusive chat with Filmibeat, the talented actress opened up about its TRPs, constant comparisons with Rupali Ganguly starrer Anupamaa, and upcoming twists.

DEEPIKA SINGH ON MANGAL LAKSHMI BEING THE TOPPER ON COLORS TV

As Mangal Lakshmi has become the top show on Colors TV, Deepika Singh feels blessed and grateful. Sharing her happiness, she said, "I'm completely grateful to the viewers. Somehow my manifestations have come true. I believe in manifestations, I believe in karma. I feel that it's the blessing of my father and mother, my husband is always there and always pushes me. My team, my manager, all have pushed me and finally, all of our manifestation has come true that we're a part of a show that is actually doing wonderful and has become the talk of the town. I'm grateful to have a wonderful team and amazing people around me."

On being asked about what sets Mangal Lakshmi apart from other family dramas currently on air, the actress stated, "It's a show where all the women come forward and support each other. Mother-in-law supports her daughter-in-law, which is very rarely seen (on TV). My sister Lakshmi, who always supports Mangal, and Mangal always supports Lakshmi. It's all connecting to the masses which is a very good thing. Nowadays, very rarely do people, especially girls who are not married, have this perception that their mother-in-law can never be supportive. But, in our show, mother-in-law is very supportive which makes us different from other shows."

DEEPIKA SINGH SAYS MANGAL LAKSHMI IS VERY DIFFERENT FROM ANUPAMAA

Many have drawn parallels between Mangal Lakshmi and the top-rated Star Plus show Anupamaa. Reacting to the constant comparisons, Deepika cleared, "I think these are those people who've not seen our show. These are just on social media, just watching a few clippings and Adit's character, and saying this. Mangal's character is not like Anupamaa at all. I think they're the people who haven't seen the show, I believe."
The actress also stated that the team is unbothered by such comparisons and is focusing on entertaining the Mangal Lakshmi loyal fanbase by giving their best. "Nothing can bring the pressure. I'm a very self-motivated person. In my team also, my director, my creative Garima ji, Suzana Ghai is a very big and renowned producer who always delivers shows with substance. So, we are not at all under pressure. We know we're doing our best, every day we're giving our best and we all have a good team spirit," Deepika further said.

Talking about upcoming twists in the storyline, she concluded, "Viewers can look forward to Mangal becoming strong. Mangal's life has been full of challenges and how she tackle those challenges to come out stronger, which is very inspirational in a way. It has been actually evolving for the past few months, from the time she got to know about her husband's affair. It's going to become more and more stronger but at the same time, she will be calmer."
