Mishri Actor Manmohan Tiwari On Entertainment Industry Helping India Strive Towards Becoming Viksit Bharat

Manmohan Tiwari, who is currently seen in Mishri, believes India is truly progressing towards becoming a developed nation, advancing very rapidly. Speaking on the occasion of the 77th year of independence, he said, "I wouldn't say that this is solely due to any particular party; it's the contribution of everyone. Everyone has their own part to play and share in this progress. As for the entertainment industry, it plays a very significant role. It's a huge role."
"I mean, we can preach to someone, give them knowledge, make them read about patriotism through books, or learn about it from parents or politicians. But these have a different impact. When we watch a movie, it gives us goosebumps," he added.
Manmohan believes that cinema has always influenced us and will continue to do so; it motivates people and awakens them. "If the people of our country do not awaken and become mentally strong, how will they contribute to the development of the nation? So, I believe that education, parents, and books play significant roles, but cinema has an even bigger role. Because we watch a lot of TV, children are born with mobile phones in their hands; they have TV. They don't even eat without watching TV. In such a scenario, what they watch, what we show them, and the kind of cinema, serials, or web series they watch have a big impact. If people can start parting their hair in the middle after watching Salman Khan, and a large population can do this for a long time; if people can start wearing bell-bottom pants after watching Amitabh Bachchan, or skinny pants after watching Jeetendra; if people can get inspired to dance after watching Hrithik Roshan; if people start learning karate after watching Akshay Kumar, then it's clear that cinema has a huge impact," he said.
"For instance, Sunny Deol came back and became a hit with the film Gadar. This is the emotion that we all have within us. This emotion always propels us forward. The issue is how to channel it and how to utilize the best of the resources we have. This is important. Social media can spoil things, but it can also do good. YouTube can spoil things, but it can also do good. The system must participate fully in ensuring that we watch good things and that good things are made for us. By 'system,' I mean the industry system, producers, writers, and content creators. We should create good content and present good things to people because people will consume what we serve. It's definitely true. If we provide good things, they become popular, and people like them and get influenced by them. Cinema has played, is playing, and will continue to play a significant role," he added.
Asked how Indian cinema and television can contribute to the nation's journey towards development and growth, he said, "I've always said that mental growth comes first, then physical. A confident person can do any job, whether they are a politician, an engineer, or a doctor."
"Sometimes, people in any profession may become negligent. But after watching a good film where they see a doctor performing their role with integrity, they feel inspired and motivated. After that, they come back and do their work well. Nowadays, people post about their work on social media to show that they are doing well and contributing positively. This is a significant role that TV, cinema, and the industry play," he concluded.
