Navratri 2024 Exclusive: Navratri, one of the most important Hindu festivals, is dedicated to worshipping the nine forms of Goddess Durga and is celebrated widely across India. Every year, the Shardiya Navratri, also known as Maha Navratri due to its deep religious and cultural importance, takes place in the month of Ashwin, typically between September and October in the Gregorian calendar.

In 2024, Navratri commenced on Thursday, October 3, and will conclude with the celebration of Dussehra, or Vijayadashami, on Saturday, October 12. The festival marks the victory of Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasura after a nine-day-long battle, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil. On the tenth day, Goddess Durga's defeat of Mahishasura is celebrated, earning her the title Mahishasuramardini.

On the special occasion, Rachi Sharma exclusively talked to Filmibeat about how the importance of Navratri and how she celebrates the festival. Rachi Sharma, who essays the lead role of Poorvi in Zee TV's Kumkum Bhagya said, "To me, Navaratri has always been about doing aartis, dancing to Garba songs, and long-lasting competition with my sibling. During Navaratri, I am extra charged up as I love dancing, and when it comes to grooving to folk songs, I am always up for it. I have a bunch of friends who are as enthusiastic as I am and are my Garba event partners."

She added, "This year, I hope that Goddess Durga showers all of her love and blessings on all of us. I wish prosperity and good health to all on the occasion of this auspicious festival. Celebrate, Dance and Enjoy!"

For those who are unaware, the significance of Vijayadashami also extends to Lord Rama's victory over Ravana, where he rescues Goddess Sita after a long struggle. This combination of victories makes both Navratri and Dussehra culturally vibrant and spiritually meaningful festivals in India.
