Veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher was both surprised and amused upon discovering that counterfeit currency notes, amounting to around Rs 1.6 crore and bearing his face, had surfaced in Gujarat. Reacting to this Actor Pankit Thakker shared his thoughts on the shocking controversy surrounding Anupam Kher's face on fake currency notes.
He said, "I think this is a hilarious wake-up call for Bollywood. It's time for us to take a step back, laugh at ourselves, and realize that even our faces can be 'counterfeit'! On a serious note, it's crucial we support the authorities in tackling counterfeit currency and maintaining our industry's integrity."
Thakker added with a smile, "If Anupam Kher's face can be used on fake notes, Maybe we should start selling our faces as NFTs and make some real money."
Recalling his association with Anupam Kher's production house, Pankit Thakker shared, "Years ago, after my success in films like 'Tere Liye' (directed by Sanjay Gadhvi) and TV shows like 'Kabhi Sautan Kabhii Sahelii' (with Ekta Kapoor), Anupam Kher's company approached me to headline a show. We even shot a pilot, but unfortunately, the project didn't take off."
