Poonam Pandey Death: The nation was left reeling by the news of actress-model and influencer Poonam Pandey's passing. According to a statement from her team on Friday morning, the Lock Upp contestant lost her battle with cervical cancer on February 1 at the age of 32.

Following the heartbreaking revelation of her demise, actress Kangana Ranaut, who had worked with Poonam Pandey in Lock Upp, took to her Instagram story to express her grief. Kangana shared a social media post announcing Poonam's death and wrote, "This is so sad, losing a young woman to cancer is a catastrophe. Om Shanti."

Reacting to the news, actor, former Bigg Boss contestant, and Lock Upp jailer Karan Kundrra expressed shock and wrote, "Can't believe that we have lost Poonam! I was in a shock and disbelief for the longest time.. gone too soon Om Shanti (folded-hands emoji) I hope her family and loved ones are going to be ok :("

Despite the confirmation of Poonam's passing, several social media users remained skeptical, speculating that it could be a marketing tactic to raise awareness about cervical cancer as the actress-model was holidaying in Goa just a few days ago.

A post on Pandey's official Instagram account confirmed the shocking news, stating, "This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared."

The news of her demise was also confirmed by her manager and other members of her team. On the career front, she was last seen as a contestant in Lock Upp.

It is reported that Poonam passed away in her hometown in Uttar Pradesh, and her funeral is expected to be held there later today (February 2).
