‘Anupamaa’ Rupali Ganguly Files Rs 50 Cr Defamation Case Against Stepdaughter; Sana Raees Khan Is Her Lawyer

Rupali Ganguly Files Defamation Case: Anupamaa actress Rupali Ganguly recently found herself in the spotlight after her stepdaughter, Esha Verma, accused her of being involved with Esha's father, Ashwin Verma, during his previous marriage to Esha's mother, Sapna. Esha further alleged that Rupali's son was born before her marriage to Ashwin, labeling him "illegitimate."

After initially choosing to remain silent, Rupali Ganguly has now responded with a strong legal move. According to a report by HT City, the actress has issued a defamation notice demanding ₹50 crores from Esha for her accusations.

RUPALI GANGULY'S TAKES ACTON AGAINST STEPDAUGHTER

Interestingly, Bigg Boss 17 fame Sana Raees Khan is Rupali's lawyer. In a statement, Sana confirmed Rupali filing a defamation suit against Esha and told the portal, "Our client asserts that the derogatory words and abusive language used publicly by you against her are profoundly degrading. These actions have damaged her reputation, violated her dignity, and adversely impacted her career, resulting in substantial financial losses."

As reported by various media outlets, actress Rupali Ganguly has expressed deep distress over her son Rudransh being drawn into recent allegations. In response, she has issued a legal notice to her stepdaughter Esha Verma, seeking a public apology. Should Esha fail to issue an apology, Rupali has stated her intention to pursue further legal steps.

In the statement, Sana added, "Our client did not anticipate such a malicious attack from you, as she always treated you well during your visits to India. Our client extended opportunities for you to break into the Indian entertainment industry with assistance from her and her husband. You were provided with numerous photoshoots and auditions."

HOW RUPALI GANGULY-ESHA VERMA CONTROVERSY STARTED?

Esha, who has publicly accused Rupali of having a relationship with her father, Ashwin Verma, during his marriage, currently lives in New Jersey with her mother, Sapna, and her sister. A graduate of Rutgers University-New Brunswick, Esha's mother, Sapna, won the Miss Karnataka title in 1986.

Rupali and Ashwin have been married since 2013 and have a son, Rudransh.
