Jheel Mehta receives marriage proposal: SAB TV's popular sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of the longest-running shows in the history of television. Not only the show's content, but its star cast also enjoys a massive fan base across the nation.

Former actress Jheel Mehta, who got fame for her role of Sonu, the daughter of Aatmaram Bhide and Madhvi Bhide in TMKOC, is currently on cloud nine as she got a special marriage proposal from her boyfriend in the most unique way.

Jheel Mehta took to her IG handle on Wednesday to drop a dreamy proposal video, which she captioned: "Koi mil gaya, mera dil gaya (sic)."

In the clip, the former actress is seen blindfolded and escorted by her friends to a rooftop where her boyfriend was waiting for her to propose. The set-up looked straight out of a dreamland. Jheel looked emotional as she said 'yes' and later hugged her boyfriend Adita as he kissed her forehead.

Her beau also performed a song for her, and she couldn't stop blushing.

Friends & Fans react

Soon after the video was uploaded, it went viral, and Jheel's friends and fans flocked to the comment section to wish her the best. Her TMKOC co-star Bhavya Gandhi, who played Tappu, dropped a red-heart emoji.

Several fans also congratulated her. One said, "Congratulations! Seeing you as Sonu on Tmkoc and now this.. time has past pretty quickly it seems, all the best to both of you."

One of her fans wrote: "Congratulations to both of you guys,"'= while one joked, "Bhindi ko pta hai is sb k baary??" Another said, "Bhai sambhal ke hamari bachpan ki crush hai woh."

Jheel Mehta played Sonalika Aatmaran Bhide, aka Sonu, in TMKOC. She quit the show in 2012 and took a break from acting, reportedly to focus on her studies. She is now working as a makeup artist.
