Transgender Actress Shubhi Sharma, Calls Out The Makers Of Colors TV's Doree - Exclusive

Transgender actress Shubhi Sharma, who is currently seen in the TV show 'Aaina-Roop Nahi Haqikat Bhi Dikhaye', and is also seen playing an antagonist, in another TV show 'Kaisa Hai Yeh Rishta Anjaana' calls out the makers of Doree.

She said, "I'm quite upset with the fact that the casting directors are casting male actors dressed up as a transgender in their shows and makers are accepting the idea. Though when our Indian government is giving us equal opportunity to be part of the society without any discrimination. I do not understand why still some producers and casting people are not taking our capabilities seriously."

She continued, "How long we will have to depend on charities. We are capable to earn like other man and women does. Some producers can only use our sufferings and challenges to melt the heart of their audience and earn profit out of it. But in real no were they want us to see the lights of sun."

Calling out at the makers of TV show Doree, after they recently aired episodes on how a transgender women create problems for the young actress Mahi Bhanushali who plays the titular role of 'Doree'

She said, "It's a shame on how the show Doree by Kinnari Mehta has likely hurt the sentiments of our community. I remember messaging the casting director Dhananjay Pandey many times before asking for work. But recived no response and was ignored. I don't really know if he does same with other male and female actors. But have seen my actor friends praising him. It makes me feel just because I'm a transgender I'm receiving such response. People here work on commision and we are also ready to pay them if required.. but atleast we seek some respect and welcome. I don't say to cast us if we aren't capable of! but atleast we own a chance to appear in an auditions."

"I'm not talking just only about me but every individual who wants to be an actor from my community. My only request is to atleast allow us to play a transgender's role in the show. We lack a lot of opportunities in the showbiz industry." She concluded.

Shubhi is known for featuring in shows like 'Saath Nibhaana Saathiya', 'Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya 2', 'Saavi Ki Savaari', 'Nath', 'Ishq Ki Dastaan - Naagmani' among others.
