The show started with Hina Khan and Karan Mehra as leads and later, Shivangi Joshi and Mohsin Khan took over the charge from them. The casting team introduced Harshad Chopda and Pranali Rathod as the third-generation leads to spice up the drama in 2021.

After being a part of YRKKH for close to two years, Harshad and Pranali bid adieu to the show as the makers decided to incorporate another generation leap into the storyline. Shehzada Dhami and Samridhii Shukla joined the daily soap, taking the responsibility on their shoulders. The gamble worked as the show witnessed a rise in numbers in the past few weeks.

Last year, there was a lot of chatter about Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai facing the axe due to drop in TRPs. It was rumoured that the show might end in the first quarter of 2024. However, the entire staged an amazing comeback and the show made a splashing entry in the list of top ten shows.

Filmibeat had debunked the rumours back then. "There's a lot of chatter around Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai going off air. The rumour mills need to rest in peace as YRKKH is safe and not ending anytime soon. The channel has just introduced the generation leap and it will take some time for the new leads to strike a connection with the masses. After Armaan and Abhira's wedding track, the makers are hopeful that the numbers will increase. There will be another massive twist when Yeh Rishta completes 15 successful years," our source told us.

Adding another twist in tale, Rajan Shahi introduced a new character. Wondering who is Dev Shehkawat in YRKKH and what's his real name? Vineet Raina has entered the show in a different avatar. The actor has played key roles in Ishq Marjawan, Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil, Dil Diyaan Gallaan and Choti Sarrdaarni, to name a few.

Is Vineet Raina related to Abhir? Contrary to the rumours, he is not playing Abhir in Yeh Rishta. There's another added angle to his character in the drama, which airs on Star Plus.
