Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai Written Update August 20: Ruhi Plans To Stop AbhiMaan Wedding; Name Change Drama

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai Today Episode: In tonight's (August 20) episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Vidya tells Abhira (Samridhii Shukla) to write her and Armaan's (Rohit Purohit) names on a leaf and instructs her to place it at the temple to receive blessings. As Abhira finishes writing the names, Kaveri interrupts and questions how she will respect her family when she can insult them by not accepting a new name.

Abhira explains her perspective, saying that if she had changed her name, she wouldn't have been happy and wouldn't have been able to keep others happy either. When Kaveri tells Abhira that she needs to prepare herself to take on responsibilities, Abhira feels tense about everything.

Kajal and Manisha show Abhira rings and ask her to select one. Abhira tries on a diamond ring, and Kajal tells her that just like the ring fits her, she must fit into the family. Manisha hands over Armaan's ring to Abhira, explaining that it's a ritual that the girl's side keeps the boy's side ring, and Abhira feels tense about how she will keep it safe.

RUHI PLANS TO STOP ARMAAN-ABHIRA WEDDING

Armaan arrives and reassures her that she doesn't need to worry. She expresses her concern that if she loses the ring, no one will trust her, but then she decides she will do it since it's only for one night.

Meanwhile, Ruhi talks to herself, lamenting that her plan failed, and plans to stop the wedding from happening. Rohit enters and expresses happiness that she and Abhira tied Rakhi to each other. Later, at the outhouse, Abhira locks everything, including every window, to keep the ring safe.
