Ankit Gupta is surely the man of the moment right now. On Friday (June 13), Ankit Gupta got embroiled in a dating rumour with a mystery girl with whom he was allegedly papped exiting a restaurant in Mumbai.
When the shutterbugs greeted him, the actor waved at them and asked them not to follow him. Soon after the video made it to the internet, netizens couldn't help but speculate if the mystery girl accompanying him was his girlfriend or not. Reacting to the video, one of the netizens commented, "Camera man ko kyun rok diya, kya chupana hai?", while another user wrote, "Kaun hai yeh ladki?"
Ankit Gupta Lashes Out Over Dating Rumours With A 'Stranger'
After a whirlwind of baseless speculations, Ankit Gupta has expressed his frustration over the viral video of him which led to his linkup with the girl featuring in the same video.
Taking to Instagram, Gupta penned a lengthy note and talked about "invasion of privacy", "baseless gossip" and "boundaries". Captioning his post, "Know the truth before saying anything, (sic)" Ankit wrote, "There comes a point where silence starts to feel like consent and I'm no longer okay with that.
Over the past few months, I've seen countless stories, edits, and assumptions being made about my personal life - with no truth, no context, and absolutely no respect for boundaries. The recent attempt to link me with someone I don't even know, just because they appeared in the same frame, is not just absurd - it's disturbing.
Let me say this very clearly:
I am a private person. What I choose to share, I share this intention. But what I will not accept is this growing culture of inventing narratives, linking me with strangers, or using my name and face to gain views, likes and attention.
This isn't just about one video - it's about the consistent invasion of privacy, the baseless gossip, and the total lack of accountability from people who post or forward this content without a second thought. (sic)"

Will Ankit Gupta Now Take Legal Action?
In his same statement, Ankit Gupta threatened to take legal action over the malicious rumours going forward. He concluded, "From this point on, any individual or platform spreading false, defamatory, or invasive content about me will be met with legal action - including defamation cases.
Having a public life does not mean my dignity is public property. So let's be clear: I'm not here to play along, I'm here to protect what's mine.
So before you publish or forward anything ask yourself: is it real, is it respectful, or is it nonsense? (sic)"
Ankit's fans and friends from the industry applauded the actor for speaking out on this matter.
