Anupamaa Actress Ishita Dixit: TV Shows Are Still The Audience’s Go-To Comfort

Anupamaa Actress Ishita Dixit

Ishita Dixit, who is seen as Pari in Deepa Shahi and Rajan Shahi's Anupamaa, which is produced under their banner Shahi Productions Pvt Ltd., stressed that a household is not complete without a TV set and TV shows.

She said, "We live in a society where the concept of family and values exists. With changing times, we have seen television stories also change their course. Even today, at the end of the day, a family eats dinner in front of a TV set."

"It is a time that people look forward to in this fast-paced world. That's the time when people entertain themselves and spend time with their loved ones. So TV shows are still the audience's go-to comfort," she added.

She also emphasised that it's great that TV shows are keeping up with the changing times. She said, "In today's world, to be relevant you need to keep up with the changing times. I believe that is one of the reasons why Anupama is still number one. It changed the way we viewed TV shows."

"The concept of a traditional married Indian woman finding independence and her personality was something we had not seen before. It's an apt example that TV shows are evolving," she added.

Ishita mentioned that actors and TV shows exist because of the audience. Therefore, it's important that the content changes as per their liking. She said, "They decide what they like, and we need to present their stories in that way. But this doesn't mean we start pleasing the audience either, because good stories challenge audiences' notions and opinions and give way to newer and better ideas as well."

"So the audience also needs to be challenged with true stories that bring reality to light and help make society a little more aware and better," she added.

Ishita believes that she has evolved as an actor and said that practice makes one perfect. She said, "I think acting is actually all about action. The more action you take, the more you learn. Every day on the set I learn something. Even on days I don't have many scenes or dialogue, there is some or the other learning I get about skills, about life, or about people. So I believe this opportunity has presented me with a very good learning opportunity where I get to practice my craft daily."

"And I've seen this change in the way I approach scenes or deliver dialogues my understanding of the craft has become better," she concluded.
